 Unlike many charities, the
PBA was founded in Weston and works to
donate time and money to needed causes within the community.
Its main function as a charitable entity is to help
the officers, and families of officers in the time of need. In addition
the PBA also donates its time and monetary support to local
charities striving to support the community. Some of these
charities include the Fairfield County Domestic Violence Center for
Battered Women, local youth sports teams, and families of officers
who are terminally ill or have passed away. The organization was
created in 1978 by Weston Police Officers,
and has evolved over the years. Currently the PBA is
striving to help an ever changing society while maintaining its
fundamental principals.
